مدیرعامل سازمان منطقه آزاد ماکو در دیدار با مقامات استان ترابزون ترکیه گفت:‌ این منطقه در حال حاضر از موقعیت جغرافیایی و مزیت مناسبی برای توسعه ترانزیت منطقه ای برخوردار است و به عنوان بندر خشک آماده توسعه صادرات و مبادلات تجاری با بندر ترابزون ترکیه است .

به گزارش پایگاه خبری منطقه آزاد ماکو غلامرضا سلیمانی در سفر به ترکیه به همراه سرکنسول ایران در ترابزون در دیدار با اسماعیل استااوغلو استاندار ترابزون و مقامات این بندر افزود:‌ این منطقه به دلیل قرار گرفتن در جاده ابریشم از مزیت های خوبی برای تبدیل به کانون ترانزیت برخوردار است و در همین راستا توسعه روابط تجاری؛ فرهنگی و گردشگری با ترکیه برای ما بسیار اهمیت دارد.
وی نقش منطقه آزاد ماکو را در تحقق تجارت ۳۰ میلیارد دلاری ایران و ترکیه حائز اهمیت خواند و افزود: ایران و ترکیه از سده های گذشته از طریق جاده ابریشم روابط تجاری مستمری با هم داشته اند لذا با استقرار منطقه آزاد فرصتی پیش آمده است تا هم ترکیه از ظرفیت و فرصت های این منطقه بهره ببرد و هم توسعه اقتصادی ایران را در بر داشته باشد.
سلیمانی گفت: ما به دنبال توافق همکاری طولانی‌مدت و پایدار هستیم و این توافقات مختص به زمان تحریم‌ها نیست.
وی از ماکو- ترابوزان – مرسین به‌عنوان سه کریدور پخش و ترانزیت برای جهان یاد کرد و افزود: یکی از طرح‌هایی که سازمان منطقه آزاد ماکو دنبال می‌کند، ایجاد شهرک مشترک سرمایه‌گذاری با ترکیه است، چراکه زیرساخت‌ها برای احداث این شهرک آماده شده است. ضمن اینکه محصولات تولیدی شرکت‌های خارجی در منطقه آزاد ماکو برای ورود به سرزمین اصلی از تخفیف ۷۰ درصدی برخوردار خواهند بود و مالکیت صددرصدی در منطقه می‌تواند خارجی باشد.
سلیمانی گفت: سالانه ۲۰ میلیارد دلار مایحتاج اولیه مثل گندم، جو، نهاده‌های دامی و… وارد کشور می‌شود و در این شرایط جدید مرسین می‌تواند بهترین محل برای تامین آن باشد. همچنین حجم صادرات محصولات پتروشیمی و صنایع نفتی ایران در سال ۱۵ میلیارد دلار در سال است که بندر ترابزون می‌تواند پایگاهی امن برای صادرات محصولات ایران باشد.

در این دیدار دکتر باغبانی کندری سرکنسول ایران در ترابزون و دکتر داهیم مدیرکل دامپزشکی استان آذربایجان غربی و معصومی مدیر گمرک بازرگان و محسنی قائم مقام شرکت سرمایه‌گذاری و توسعه ماکو نیز حضور داشتند
